One of the highlights of the past week was our Sixth Form Open Evening held on Wednesday, for both Derby High students and those in local schools. This event was a significant milestone for Year 11 students and their parents. It marked the start of an exciting journey as they take their first steps towards Sixth Form, A-level choices, enrichment opportunities, and future career prospects. This phase is all about exploration, decision-making, and personal growth, and we are committed to being a steadfast source of support and guidance for our students throughout this journey. We understand that the choices ahead can be both exhilarating and challenging, but please rest assured that our dedicated teachers are here to assist our students at every turn. We are committed to helping students make informed choices that align with their interests, aspirations, and academic strengths, ensuring that each one has access to the resources and guidance they need to make the most of their Sixth Form experience.

I am absolutely delighted to have welcomed so many students, including many from local schools. It’s clear that our school’s impressive history of top results and our recent “excellent” commendation in the ISI Inspection have been strong attractions. However, what truly stands out is the infectious enthusiasm of our current Sixth Formers. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to them for graciously sharing their passion and love for our school with our prospective students. Their genuine enthusiasm is a testament to the vibrant and supportive community we have here.
