Senior High Notes 15th December 2023

It is with immense joy that I reflect on the conclusion of another term filled with remarkable achievements and heart-warming moments.

Our Carol Service on Tuesday at Derby Cathedral was a truly special evening that brought together our school community in a festive celebration. The Cathedral echoed with the harmonious sounds of our students’ musical talents, marking the perfect culmination for our exceptional music department. The performances were nothing short of incredible, showcasing the dedication and hard work that our students have put into their musical pursuits throughout the term.

Our Wednesday morning was graced by the presence of parents and grandparents attending the EYFS Nativity. Witnessing the youngest members of our school community take the stage was a truly special experience. The outstanding singing and performing talents displayed during the Nativity were a testament to the nurturing environment we provide at Derby High.

These events, along with countless others, have contributed to making this term truly exceptional for both our students and staff. When asked about the secret behind Derby High’s success, my answer is unwavering – it is the strength of our community. The collaborative efforts of everyone involved creates a supportive atmosphere that enables our students to achieve their very best. As we bid farewell to this term, let us carry the spirit of unity and accomplishment into the well-deserved holiday break.

This week we were delighted to welcome back Miss Lucy Wilson, Head of RS, after maternity leave. We extend our gratitude to Mrs Driver as she leaves us at the end of term.

Wishing you all a joyful and restful holiday season. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Tuesday 9th January.
