What a lovely week it has been! The weather has felt wonderfully spring-like, bright and fresh, until the rain arrived this morning to remind us that we are still very much in February.
It has also been a real pleasure to welcome so many parents into school for our Parent Showcase today. What a special opportunity this is for our pupils to proudly share their work, talk about their learning, and show just how much they have grown and achieved. There was such a lovely buzz around the school as classrooms filled with conversation, curiosity, and celebration. These moments matter so much, they strengthen the partnership between home and school and remind our children that their effort, creativity, and progress are truly valued.
Looking ahead, we are all very much looking forward to the House Music finals taking place next week, a truly wonderful and special Derby High tradition. It is always a joy to see our pupils showcase such incredible talent across a vast range of instruments, including voice. The finals celebrate not just musical skill, but confidence, creativity, and collaboration, and they are a highlight of the school year that never fails to inspire.
