Thank you for your understanding and support during this week’s exceptionally hot weather. We
have made a number of adjustments to events and activities, including moving some key occasions
to later dates. Whilst changing long-planned events is never ideal, the health and wellbeing of our
pupils, staff and families must always come first, and we are grateful for the flexibility shown by our
community.
The concerts, performances, competitions and celebration events that fill our calendar at this time
of year are not isolated moments. They are the visible culmination of a year’s worth of effort,
learning, perseverance and growth. Behind every confident performance, every success and every
achievement are countless lessons, practises, conversations and small acts of determination that
often go unseen.
The events we celebrate at this time of year are not the point of education; they are the evidence of
it. They allow us to see the confidence that has been built, the friendships that have been formed,
the skills that have been developed and the character that has been shaped over the course of a
year.
Schools have a wonderful way of making growth visible. A pupil who lacked confidence in September
stands proudly on a stage in June. A student who found a subject difficult discovers a newfound
passion. Young people develop resilience, independence and a stronger sense of who they are and
who they might become.
