I am eagerly looking forward to watching the final of Traitors tonight – a show that I am sure many of you may also be following. It is one of those programmes that grips you with its mix of strategy, suspicion, and surprises. Watching the contestants navigate the challenges of trust and betrayal has really got me thinking about the importance of trust in our everyday lives.

In school, trust is the foundation of everything we do. It allows children to feel safe, form strong friendships, and work well together in teams. Trust is built through small but significant actions: being kind, keeping promises, and always being honest. It is also about forgiveness – understanding that we all make mistakes and giving others the chance to put things right.

Trust might seem like a simple concept, but it is a vital skill that strengthens friendships, families, and communities alike.

As we reflect on trust, this week has been a wonderful example of how it underpins everything we do as a school community. A highlight was our Primary Teatime Concert, where parents joined us to celebrate our young performers. For the children, stepping onto the stage required courage and trust – trust in themselves, trust in their teachers’ guidance, and trust in the supportive audience around them. Events like this showcase the strength of our community and the importance of providing opportunities where children can grow in confidence and feel valued.
