Well done and thank you to all our performers who contributed to last night’s wonderful Primary Tea Time Concert. Our series of Primary Tea Time Concerts provide an opportunity for our Primary pupils to showcase all the hard work they are doing in lessons and at home. It was fantastic to see so many pupils perform for the first time and how our older pupils are flourishing with their chosen instrument.

Yesterday Year 7 had a great day out at the Rosliston Forestry Centre. Albeit a little damp to start the day, everyone was raring to go and had a great time taking part in activities within their form groups. There was Laser Tag in the forest, an orienteering challenge around the Forestry Centre and team building challenges to contend with. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to have fun with their friends and interact as form groups. Thank you to all the staff at the Rosliston Forestry Centre, we had a fantastic day!

Year 3 celebrated Roald Dahl Day yesterday. Everyone looked amazing as the children and teachers dressed up in their favourite characters. Year 3’s activities were all based around the wonderful magic he brought to us through his story telling, including a STEM based activity. The children`s engineering skills were put to the test as they competed to make the tallest, strongest freestanding tower to support the `Great Glass Elevator`. They used their Thinking for Learning skills, in particular collaboration, persistence and curiosity, to produce a final product that they were proud of. A fantastic day was had by everyone involved.

Our first full week back to school has been full of opportunities to catch up with each other and make new friends. As a special treat this lunchtime we enjoyed a BBQ on the field. It was lovely occasion to see all our pupils, from Pre-School to Sixth Form, enjoy the warm weather and take time out, in the shade, to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
Thank you to our Caretakers and Catering Team for making this lunchtime event possible.

Derby High School is celebrating a fantastic set of results with 78% of A level grades at A*- B, 52% at A*- A, and 26% at A*. In addition to their A levels, many students completed an Extended Project Qualification, which universities value highly for the independent skills developed in the process.
Head, Amy Chapman commented, "We are immensely proud of the achievements of our Year 13 students. These outstanding A Level results reflect the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and academic curiosity. But what truly sets this cohort apart is the way they have embraced the broader aspects of education - developing into well-rounded individuals equipped not only with exceptional academic skills but also with leadership qualities, effective teamworking abilities, and the confidence to speak in public. As they embark on this new chapter of their educational journey, we have every confidence that these bright young people will continue to shine and make a positive impact on the world.”

Year 5 & 6 wowed us with their superb production – A la la la la laddin last night. Their singing and expression were electrifying! Year 6 took the lead parts, and the audience were truly transported into Arabia – a stunning cave scene, the palace and downtown in the marketplace. The set and costumes were stunning, and the audience were dazzled right from the start of the show, which was opened by a dragon!
A huge congratulations to all of Year 5 and 6. Thank you to Dr. Evans Bolger and Mrs. Cooke for directing this outstanding musical tale.

On Wednesday 28th June, we enjoyed a fantastic evening at our Senior Summer Showcase event. The evening consisted of two halves: firstly, exhibitions of work from CREST, Extended Project Qualification, Genius Hour, Art & Design and Design & Technology. These were accompanied by live music and refreshments. It was a great opportunity to view just a snapshot of the variety of opportunities and achievements of our students.
During the second half of the evening, senior school musicians entertained a welcoming audience at the Summer Concert. Thank you to all of our students for their wonderful performances, to Mrs. Lesley, Mrs. Storey and our dedicated team of music teachers and to families and friends for supporting our musicians.
