Students at Derby High School are today celebrating a superb set of GCSE results, marking another year of outstanding achievement. Over half of all grades awarded were at grade 7 and above (equivalent to A and A*), with an impressive one third of all grades at grade 8 or higher (A*).

These wonderful results reflect not only the hard work, talent, and dedication of our students and staff, but also open the door to exciting next steps. Many will now continue their journey in Derby High’s thriving Sixth Form, where they will build on this success as they prepare for A Levels and beyond.

What makes these accomplishments especially remarkable is that they have been achieved alongside an impressive array of co-curricular commitments. This cohort has completed Duke of Edinburgh Awards, gained Associated Board music and LAMDA qualifications, and represented the school and region in numerous sports and music ensembles. Their achievements highlight both the breadth of opportunity at Derby High and the all-round excellence of its students.

This latest success follows last week’s excellent A Level outcomes, where 82% of students secured their first-choice university place, a testament to the school’s supportive, ambitious and aspirational learning community.
