Primary High Notes 27th September 2024
In my primary assembly yesterday I spoke about something we all experience: pressure. With the new series of The Great British Bake Off starting this week, I thought it was the perfect way to introduce the idea of how we handle life’s challenges. Just like the bakers in the tent, our children face their own pressures—whether it is learning something new in class, trying their best in sports, or navigating friendships.
We talked about how important it is to prepare, stay calm when things do not go to plan, and see pressure as a chance to grow and improve. In Bake Off, even when the cakes don’t rise or the biscuits break, the best bakers stay calm, make adjustments, and create something they are proud of. This is a wonderful lesson for our children too: when things feel tough, taking a deep breath, staying positive, and asking for help can make all the difference.
Just as the bakers learn from each challenge, our children can embrace their own challenges with the same spirit of resilience and creativity.
