Derby High School Celebrates Excellent GCSE Results
Two years of hard work, determination and ambition came together today as our students opened their GCSE results, and there was a great deal to celebrate.
63% of all grades were awarded at grades 7–9, with an outstanding 44% at grades 8 and 9, the equivalent of the former A*. Across the year group, one third of students achieved grades 7, 8 and 9 in every one of their GCSE subjects.
These results are a wonderful achievement, but so too is everything our students have accomplished alongside them.
Today is about celebrating not only what these young people have achieved, but everything they have become along the way.

Derby High School Celebrates Best Ever A Level Results
There is a real sense of celebration at Derby High today as students receive an exceptional set of A Level results – the school’s best ever, with 80% of all grades awarded at A*–B, and an outstanding 27% at A*. This is a remarkable achievement for a talented and determined group of young people and a very special day for the whole Derby High community.
The headline figures are exceptional, but they tell only part of the story. Behind every result is a young person who has worked hard, responded to challenge, grown in confidence and pursued their own ambitions. It is that combination of individual achievement and collective success that makes today such a proud moment.
Congratulations to our students. Today is both a celebration of everything our students have achieved and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Our final week before the summer break was a busy one for our Duke of Edinburgh Award participants!
Our Year 12 students successfully completed their Gold Qualifying Expedition in the Yorkshire Three Peaks, showing incredible resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the week. They should all be extremely proud of their achievement!
Meanwhile, our Year 10 students completed their Bronze Expedition Training with Adventure Expeditions, developing key skills including first aid, navigation, campcraft and Trangia cooking before their Qualifying Expedition in September.
It has been fantastic to see so many students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and progressing through the different levels of the programme.
Well done to everyone involved!

As a final Year 6 tradition at Derby High Primary, pupils took part in the annual leavers` corridor and farewell clap this afternoon.
Each Year 6 pupil received a whole-school round of applause as they walked through a human corridor formed by pupils and staff from across the Junior building. It was a memorable way to recognise their time at the school and celebrate all they have achieved.
We wish every member of Year 6 every success as they begin the next stage of their education at Derby High School and beyond. Thank you for being such a fantastic year group.

From Derby to Paris!
We`re so proud of former Derby High School students Fiona (Class of 2021) and Hannah (Class of 2022), who have reunited in Paris while pursuing their passion for languages.
Fiona is completing her first year of teaching, while Hannah is studying French and Italian. The pair are now working together and recently completed a teaching placement with an incredible classroom view of the Eiffel Tower!
It`s wonderful to see our former students building global careers and remembering their French lessons at DHS so fondly.
Congratulations, Fiona and Hannah - we wish you every success for the future!
