The Aquinas Piano Trio

Renowned cellist and former Derby High pupil Katherine Jenkinson returned to school to perform a concert with one of Britain’s most sought after ensembles.

The Aquinas Piano Trio, which consists of Ruth Rogers on violin, Katherine and Martin Cousin on piano, played for students, staff and parents in the Devonshire Room.

In 1998, Katherine won a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music and gained a first class degree, 10 Academy prizes, a distinction in Performance diploma as well as the acclaimed DipRAM.

Ed Temple, Director of Music at Derby High School, said the concert was a fantastic opportunity to hear a world-class ensemble and the pre-concert talk gave our students an insight into the life of a professional musician.
