Superb Saints
By Georgiana, Priya & Erin

At Derby High School we have four different Houses, each named after the Patron Saints of the United Kingdom. Each House also has a colour, linked to the country’s flag. We have equal house respect but sometimes we can be a little competitive!

In our Houses you get mixed up, with ages 3-18, and it’s a chance to make new friends. Also, there are competitions and events for the Houses and they all involve working together.

“What I like about all the houses is that we are very happy and very smiley. Everyone is an important person at this school and some inspire others which makes everyone special. Even if a house does not win anything, they don't just sit there looking down, they cheer for the winning team and be pleased that at least they tried their best and participated in the competition or challenge.”                   Chandreyi, Year 6

“Competitions are really good. Sometimes you can just let loose, have fun, dress up and compete as a house.  My favourite House Competition is definitely Sports Day because I enjoy being outside and getting fresh air. The thing that is special about Derby High School is that all the houses have a special and different contrast!”  Emily, Year 6
